There is no better way to decorate a party or event than doing it in an eco-friendly and responsible way. How? Simple—use biodegradable materials to avoid harming the environment.
Today we are going to show you how you can decorate in an eco-friendly way with a small tutorial to make bunting from burlap fabric.
What materials do you need?
– Burlap fabric
– Fabric paint. Any color works, although white looks especially good on jute.
– White glue
– Cardstock
– Paintbrush or brush
– Jute twine
– Scissors
– 1 safety pin
Steps
1. Cut the fabric into equal pieces in the shape you want (square, triangular, rectangular), always leaving a margin at the top to sew later (about 5 cm). Make as many cuts as the number of bunting flags you want to hang.
2. Cut the cardstock with the design you want to apply to the fabric. These can be numbers, shapes, letters, etc.
3. Place the letter template in the center of one of the burlap pieces and apply the paint. Be careful to place some plastic underneath in case the paint bleeds through.
4. Fold the extra top part of the fabric piece and sew it on the back, leaving a small gap to pass the cord through.
5. Thread the cord through the inside of the hem. You can use a safety pin to help.
Five simple steps that will make your party something fresh and natural.
